New Digital Initiative Empowers Conversano Students to Tackle Bullying through "The Invisible Fuel"
CONVERSANO, Italy — Youmanity has announced the launch of its latest educational project, "The Invisible Fuel," at the Falcone e Borsellino-Carelli Institute. This interactive project marks the charity’s continued commitment to social inclusion and emotional literacy in secondary education.
Building on the foundation laid by previous successful school collaborations, "The Invisible Fuel" pivots from the general concept of friendship to the specific, active power of Compassion.
Community Synergy
The project was made possible through a high degree of synergy between the charity, the school, and the local community. Youmanity extends its gratitude to the parents of the participating students, whose support and formal authorization were vital to the success of the project’s group discussion phase.
"The school environment is where these values are tested daily," said Angelo Iudice, Director of Youmanity. "We are particularly grateful to the Head of School, Dr. Flora Gesumina Marasciulo, and her staff for fostering such a collaborative atmosphere. A special mention must go to Professor Rosa Pepe, the school’s lead for bullying and cyberbullying prevention, whose insight ensured the project addressed the real-world digital challenges students face today."
A "Student-Led" Narrative
The core of the initiative is a 60-second digital cartoon co-authored by 20 students. Rather than a top-down lecture, the narrative was developed through workshops where students identified the "Invisible Fuel"—the inner strength required to reach out to a peer in distress or to stand firm against a viral rumor.
By setting the animation in recognizable local spots like Giardino Garibaldi, the project bridges the gap between abstract values and the students' daily lives in Conversano.
Challenging the Status Quo
The project seeks to redefine compassion as a "gutsy" choice. In an era of fast-spreading social media rumors, the students’ script emphasizes that the strongest person in the room is the one who stops the cycle of negativity.
As the production enters its final editing phase, the impact is already clear: compassion is no longer viewed as a weakness, but as the essential energy required to ensure no student has to face the "dark" alone.
