To mark World Mental Health Day 2022 - Monday 10th October, Youmanity partnered with KeolisAmey Docklands (KAD), operators of Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and Thrive LDN to deliver a danceathon, powered by the Speaker Box Street Party!
This dance project was designed to help improve mood, reduce stress and anxiety. Research suggests that dancing produces mood-improving chemicals, ‘happy hormones’ that stay in the body as long as a week after the last dance. According to dance psychologist, Dr Peter Lovatt, just ten minutes of dancing can provide a good work out for the body and brain, raising the heartbeat to cause a release of feel-good endorphins, reducing our stress levels.
