Entitled 'Home, my Place in the World', the 2014 photography edition explored the concept of ‘home’ as to what it means to communities worldwide.
The 2014 overall winner was Menno Aden - Berlin
Menno’s work sets out to illustrate how young people in Berlin lose their home due to the gentrification of deprived areas by affluent people whose property investments insidiously squeeze them out.
The winning photographs portray the modest interior of abandoned homes and have been taken from an unusual bird’s-eye perspective.
Since Home, my Place in the World exhibition, Menno Aden won 1st prize at Deutscher Preis Wissenschaftsfotografie
