Pride Month 2019
Every year, during the month of June, the LGBT community celebrates in a number of different ways. Across the globe, various events are held during this special month as a way of recognising the influence LGBT people have had around the world. Why was June chosen? Because it is when the Stonewall Riots took place, way back in 1969.
There are many events and exhibitions unfolding in the UK over the month of June. One very special exhibition is being showcased by the EU Representation of the UK, Stonewall 50 - LGBTQI+ Life Before & After
This is an impressive collection of cartoons by celebrated artist Kate Charlesworth describing the trials, tribulations and success gay people have gone through over the past 50 years.
